In the manufacturing process, approximately ten different raw materials are melted in five extruders and blown into a film. Each of the raw materials has a unique property such as UV-stability, tack characteristics, and resistance to tearing.
Compared with the cast film process, the silage film produced by the blown film process has better quality and is more popular.

Silage film is a product specially developed for the silage of forage grass. It has the same packaging principle as industrial stretch wrapping film, but has its own characteristics.
The film is opaque and UV-resistant, making it suitable for long-term outdoor storage. An anaerobic environment is formed inside, which prolongs the shelf life of forage grass.

- Do not use materials that will chemically harden polyethylene to tie bales, such as some hemp ropes.
- Do not apply silage film in the rain, as rain will weaken the film’s adhesion.
- Do not use sulfide-treated bale wrap.
- The wrapped bales should be kept away from fertilizers, pesticides, mineral oils and other substances that will accelerate the aging of the film.
- The silage film roll should be placed upright in a dry place without direct sunlight.
- The silage film left over from the film wrapping machine must be covered to prevent moisture.
- We recommend using the silage film within two years of purchase.

Available in thickness: 25um or 22um, silage film tensile strength can reach 40MPa and is supplied on plastic cores to offer protection against moisture. The silage film thickness was reduced from 25 to 22, reducing the cost, but the strength of the film did not change.

Notes On Usage And Operation
Baler film wrapping machine operation: During operation, the silage film should not be overstretched, and the recommended stretching ratio is 50-70%. The latter film should cover 50% of the former film and wrap tightly, and the tail end should be inserted into the film layer of the silage bale, usually wrapped in 3-4 layers.
Damage treatment: If there is obvious damage on the surface, it should be sealed with appropriate tape immediately. Unused pasture film should be stored in a cool and dark environment to prevent moisture and mechanical damage to the surface.

1. You must choose a professional manufacturer for silage film.
Silage film is a special function silage packaging film. In addition to high light shielding, weathering resistance, aging resistance, and UV resistance for long-term outdoor storage, it also needs to provide a suitable closed fermentation environment for the silage bale! Therefore, you must choose a professional manufacturer with strength.
2. Not all silage films are the same.
Silage film needs to be stored outdoors for a long time, so it is closely related to the natural environment of the place where it is used, especially the local season, light intensity, tensile properties and humidity. This requires suppliers to adjust the color and formula of the silage film according to the user’s situation. Of course, the color is also related to the user’s local usage preferences and habits. Unprofessional, so-called silage film manufacturers cannot do this at all.
3. Silage film must choose the blown film process
Cast film and extrusion blow molding are two production processes for plastic films. Both processes have their own advantages, but for silage film, blown film is better.
